Jase is acting in a pretty important position for work currently - so he spent Sunday morning in the office. The girls and I tagged along for a free trip to the city and we spent Sunday morning in Myer ;)
Made me feel a bit like a kept woman really - him working, me spending. Except as anyone would know that reads this blog - I also plug away hard at my career and in fact had only arrived home late Friday night from a work trip to Sydney. But anyway I lived the fantasy for a few hours.
It was close to a perfect shopping experience - the girls were angels in the double pram, happily sitting for two hours whilst I did circuits, the sales were incredible and I found clothes that I wanted and even better in my size! I had spent a long plane trip pouring over my latest Shop Till You Drop magazine so I had some strong ideas of looks I wanted to achieve for this transeasonal time (Sorry colder parts of Australia but here in Qld I am already moving into my late-winter,early-spring mood).
Some of my inspiration currently is drawn from the dancer trend
The skater style shirt skirt worn with oversized knitted see through jumpers is something that I wanted to try.... and I found the perfect jumper in a lovely dusky pink. I saw plenty of skirts too but none that were quite right yet.
I grabbed a great navy and white striped cotton scarf with a bow pattern printed over it - I am such a sucker for bows! Very classic but a little cute too. I got a great thin material bomber style jacket in dove grey and splurged on a really elegant chocolate brown blouse for work as I have a talk to present on Tuesday and thought it would look great with my black pencil skirt for a bit of a confidence boost. And I finished by uhming and aahing over a Wayne Cooper race back satin singlet in plum - it fell beautifully but does draw attention to the fact that I am yes slim but no not *cough* blessed with any womanly curves. But I decided at that sale price I could work that out later!
But the clothes will come in handy in the next few weeks as I have quite a few things on such as High Tea and a girls night out..

About Me
- Amy
- I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)

Jea-lous! Of your shopping trip that is - I know how hard it must be with Jase working longer hours and you jetsetting around yourself. Glad you got some 'you' time in - even with the girls. I did a shopping trip with Ashleigh on the weekend, but she just wanted out so she could go exploring herself. Did work well when she fell asleep though. ;)
ooo! They sound lovely! You must post pics!!
So glad you got to have a bit of down time and do a bit of shopping!
Sounds like you did well Amy! And I'm glad you got the top, I'm sure it looks great on your svelte figure!
One time when you are in town we should meet for tea and cake :)
