Yeah I have been a little MIA - due to the joys of all day morning sickness. Of course its great to know the hormones are strong etc etc but man its hell trying to eat, go to work and try and stay cheery...
I am sorry to say that eating unhealthy things is about all I can manage. I am so paranoid about putting lots of unnecessary weight on... but at the moment the sickness wins over my usual discipline.
Have told my brother at my dads bday get together this last weekend - that went well and have even started telling friends. The obs visits have gone well - the spotting has gone and we had had two lovely ultrasounds where we can see the heartbeat - very cute!
Next up is the 12 week bloods and scan and then I will come clean at work - well providing that conincides with me getitng my new position - I will wait for that ultimately...
Only a little belly to speak of, mainly I am just noticing the absence of my lean muscly stomach :( so I am doing well at hiding for now.. I have bought a book on pregnancy pilates so once my energy comes back I will get stuck into that to keep me sane..
I am having my first sick day today - am bone tired and couldnt drag myself out of bed - its bliss so far! though I will get up and get moving as my poor horses have EI and I want to go check on them :(
Current foods: vegemite and crispix, mandarines, vanilla yoghurt, ravoli and pesto, KFC and Nandos!!
Current Weight: 59 Kgs (starting weight 57.5)

Yeah I havent been too positive, I must confess. I have taken numerous HPT's just to check - sigh! The spotting has stuck around - ridiculously light but enough to keep me worried. But I havent had any cramps or backache so I am trying to think the best from now. I have got the sorest boobs and yay they are bigger!! Not sure anyone else would notice but I have ;) And... I have some minimal morning sickness - just light sort of travel sickness, tiredness and headaches. Mmm fun!
Cheese has become my new best friend. A little strange when I am dairy intolerant but hey what ever makes me feel better!
I got my referral today - and when I rang the obs they booked me in for monday - wow!! much sooner than I was expecting!! I am in two minds about going private - I am pleased to be getting the extra care, scans and lovely hospital room but also worried about the exxy $$$$ that will be adding up. Still I guess if you cant spend money on your health, what should you spend it on!
I got kicked in the wrist by Spech last night - ouch!!! I was trying to get the scab off his greasy heel on his leg and it was clearly pretty painful for him.. and then for me! But the swelling has gone down and fortunately it seems its only bruising. But I did take the afternoon off work to rest ;) good thingas I have been feeling pretty seedy!!
Mum and Dad arrive tomorrow - we will be telling them the big news. Gosh I dont know how its going to go but I think there will be lots of emotion!!

Its been a long tireing week! I have had a lovely quiet morning soaking up some sun and admiring my shiny ponies. Although in confession time - I did vacuum our two cars and eat most of a chocolate cake that J cooked but couldnt use as it feel apart... so I guess I have been reasonable busy ;)
In preggo news - I have had a little brown spotting the last couple of days which has been scaring me no end! But apparently its normal and only a problem if its heavy red bleeding and bad cramps... so I keep reminding myself to not stress about a little bit of old blood! Apparently the backache/slight cramping and spotting can mean that bubba is burrowing deeper into the unterine lining - so I like to think that it all means that bubba is making itself extra comfortable! I saw my GP yesterday which involved numerous peeing in cups and way too much blood being drained from me but all went well. She also told me not to worry about the spotting! I am back next week for all the test results and to get my obs referral. We also get a scan at 9 weeks cool!!
Am trying to write my job application - sigh! How hard is it to crap on about your self to your direct bosses!!! I mean they know it all and if you make it sound too impressive you might look like a wanka!! Off for a spot of shopping and a BBQ at a friends place tonight - looking forward to it :)

Yep that is right - I am pregnant! I think I need to say it more so I can believe it - at this stage its just an abstract concept... but already becoming hard to ignore ;) Bigger boobs, cramps, tiredness and some lovely dizziness mean that I dont quite feel myself...
I want to use this blog to keep track of my pregnancy as I think that it is such a special time and its a great way to remember everything (especially cause I am sure I will forget lots with my shocking preggy brain!)
I had my first day at work today since I got my BFP. It felt weird - not just cause I was dizzy! Normally I race around trying to do way too much at once but today I tried to keep it a little calmer and relaxed. Also I had to think twice about what I could have for lunch - I had a work lunch and I couldnt just how into the nice sandwiches! I dont know how I will stay away from meat on sandwiches for the next 8 months! sigh!
And of course I had a healthy pack-it about telling work. So close to being made permanent and I am just not sure how they will take this news. Will I still get my new job? Even though I cant fulfill the main duties in the PC3 laboratory since pregnant women arent allowed in there???? sigh! the uncertainity is definitely weighing on me...
But other then that I am really happy and shocked. I just thought it was going to be so hard for us to get UTD and it so wasnt! Who would have thought!

About Me
- Amy
- I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)
