I have decided to make a mobile for the nursery. I dont think hubby has stopped laughing since I mentioned this... Scientist I may be and damn good with hands-on projects but crafty is not a word that tends to be used to describe me ;)

Anyhoo - I wandered off to Spotlight today and spent hours picking things up and putting them back lol. But I must have done alright with my stash of ribbons, fabric, beads and sequins as the salesgirl asked straight away if I was making a mobile! Ha score one for me! Was feeling quite proud of myself until I got home and realised that eek it was just me, the sewing machine and needle and thread now!

So my "idea" is fabric stars in the nursery colours of lemon, lilac and pale green with some beads and ribbons to hang the stars from a cane circle... stay tuned ;) I am sure it will only take about three months to make!

Looking forward to seeing the finished product. The colours you've chosen sound lovely :)

About Me

My Photo
Amy
I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)
