Bubba had her first kiddies birthday party on the weekend :) and of course that required a cute party frock! She looked super cute and behaved perfectly for hours without a single cry. She is so damn social and just loves being around lots of people who are paying her attenetion. She tries to smile at everyone including other babies which cracks me up!

She got to stay at my parents place for the first time and that I think was special to mum. it went really well. We also drove down to Yamba for the day to introduce Elka to her great-grandmother (Jase's Mum's Mother). It was beautiful to see her being held by Lucy and to think that we were four generations of women together.

Otherwise I think we are hitting that four month/17 week growth spurt - she is a little unsettled at times, super hungry and is waking during the night again at about 3.30am for a feed. She is also gnawing her (or mine!) hands non-stop and seems like her gums are driving her batty, poor thing.

We bought her a high chair yesterday and a sippy cup. She grabbed the sippy cup and put it to her moouth to drink straight away which surprised me. not as much as it did her though! As it only had water in it and she has never had water before. Her facial expression when she tasted it and realised it wasn't milk was classic!

I have nearly finished the stupid grant application I have been doing for work. It has been hanging over my head and stressing me out which I have not enjoyed. Otherwise with all the outings and trips away etc I have not had any time to spend with the horses which has been depressing me a little. I really need some time soon as Spech needs some showjumping work if I want to enter that cross country event. Sigh! I am getting on top of Elka's cat napping which will help a lot (I hope!)

But all in all, life is pretty darn good! Jase has two days off next week too so we will get even more of the drains around the house sorted and maybe finally we can make the outside of the house look tidied rather than messier!

About Me

My Photo
Amy
I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)
