Horsegift.com

It has been a bit stressful around here again. Jase was away for a week on a work trip, rain has been reaking havoc on our extension (and our existing house also as we have had the old gutters pulled off - what a mess!) and Bronte is in the middle of heaps of medical appointments (including having blood taken tomorrow, poor tyke).

So I have been paying attention to what calms my jangling nerves and soothes me and I realised I am blessed with so many comforts.

- Bronte - bubby hugs, warm breastfeeding cuddles and big gummy grins and laughs make me content.

- Elka - cheeky grins, funny comments and non-stop singing of the alphabet song are guaranteed to lift my mood.

- Jase - having him home from his trip instantly soothed me. I can't imagine not having him in my life.

- My family - cosy chats over coffee with my Mum, watching Dads beaming face as he played with Bronte and proudly took Elka to library storytime and sisterly love: watching Bronte giggling and cooing at Elka whilst Elka strokes her head and kisses her, bless.

- my horses, grooming a horse can be like therapy, its medatative and reminds me of what we work so hard for out here, to have these gentle quiet rural experiences.

What makes you feel soothed?

About Me

My Photo
Amy
I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)
