A beautiful little girl has been on my mind a lot lately. Her story is here. I watch my girls play and I just shake my head whilst trying to fathom the raw cruelty that life can become sometimes.

Somehow being a molecular biologist and understanding this disorder at the cellular level makes it exquisitely more heartbreaking.

Even after all these months I am still in a constant state of shock and disbelief.

Life can be so cruel. This just should not be happening :(

This breaks my heart. I feel so much for this amazing woman and her family and for the beautiful Stella. I hate that life can be so cruel :(

It has broken my heart reading Stella's story and hearing what is happening to that gorgeous girl. Every time I read an update (which I have to admit I don't do as often as I should because it does reduce me to tears) I hold my two close and and eternally grateful that they are both healthy.

Life is just not fair, and yes, can be cruel sometimes.

About Me

Amy
I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)
