I don't really do spontaneity - at least not now with two little kids and a farm full of animals. But it is being thrust upon me. As of two minutes ago we had to pick a resort to spend the next two nights as we "have" to do a trip (long story). Its been a really stressful couple of weeks, I have barely seen Jase with the amount of work trips he has had, the kids are being particularly challenging and I had some major deadlines at work this week, which I nailed yay, so all in all, a family holiday away from the chores of the farm will do us well. So on top of a sale I need to hit tomorrow - poor Bronte has no warm clothes and the vet appointment I have for my horse (swollen lymph gland, minor lameness), I get to pack a million clothes, toys, food and head up the coast with the rest of SE Qld heading off on school holidays (arrgh!).
All I keep thinking about are all the things I needed to get done this weekend but I am doing my best to push all that away.
Holidaying with kids is not really relaxing as such but hey a change of location will be nice!

About Me
- Amy
- I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)

Go you! What a week/month/year you've had already - I think you deserve a mini-break with the family. We have my parents arriving tomorrow and staying until after Easter, so at the moment, thats as good a break as I'm going to get (but I'm really not complaining - having someone to help around the house is really the best present a Mum could ask for!).
And must be the time of year - my work has been crazy busy and stressful as well. Have managed to develop a mouth ulcer (which I get when I'm really stressed), which is funny because while I feel busy, I don't feel stressed!!
Anyway, enjoy your break and make sure you take lots of photos to share with us - can't wait to see what you and the kids get up to!
I'd be interested in hearing that story. With both of you on hand for the kids, and no other animals to look after, I hope that you can have a fun family time.
