As you would know from my blog, I love living on a property. And yes I can even say that after a long tiring week of expensive horse specialists, 4WD breakdowns and my husband being stranded in Sydney by the dust storm!
And why I love it - because its dirty, hard work and rewarding. It keeps you fit, busy and obsessed with rain ;)
And our life is always a little different to most other peoples we know - today we cleaned paddocks and worked outside all morning, then "spoiled" ourselves by spending nearly $800 on a new dam pump for our irrigation. Oh yes nothing is cheap when it comes to farm equipment... but we are so excited - our gardens are going to love being watered by a reliable pump that doesn't need to be rebuilt after every use (and so will Hubby!).
But in the wonderful contrast that is our life - we are heading off this afternoon to go shopping, most importantly to head to Oroton to search for a new handbag for me.
Funnily enough - I need to change clothes before we go - pump buying clothes at our local industrial state don't stretch to handbag shopping... but I love how many different things I can end up doing in a day :)

About Me
- Amy
- I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)

I hear everything you say. I have had many days just like this. Life in the country is so different to any other and only those living it can truely understand it and I wouldnt change a thing - except maybe my internet access. Cheers
