I love the rain. Its intrinsic to our way of life here. Our only water supply is our water tanks, our horses and ducks need the dams and we all need the paddocks to be green. We normally dance happily around and exclaim excitedly at the meterology sattelite images when the clouds are building. But not so much when we are building - particularly since they have half pulled off the end of our existing roof. Its not fun lying in bed at night wondering if the water pooling on the new house slab is soaking into the plasterboard of your two kid's bedrooms where the brick wall has been removed.
So after yet another week of building slowed down by rain (we honestly though building in the driest season was a safe bet!), we are learning patience. With any luck we will soon have the tin roof up and the rain will become less of an issue.
In the meanwhile I am just pleased that the 20 tonne crane and 8 dumptrucks worth of dirt all came this week before the paddocks got soaked and muddy! Small blessings...

About Me
- Amy
- I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)

Gorgeous, I wish my rain outfits could be as cute as that without people thinking I was mad!! x
Oh, doesn't Elka look just gorgeous! Lovin' the tutu. Let's hope the rain eases up so work can continue on the house.
