Elka had another check up at the baby clinic today - my little one has cracked the 5kg mark! She put on another 284g and is 5.014 kg now! she also grew another 0.5 cm in length and in head circumference. The nurse was super happy with her alertness and commented on just how strong her head and neck are!

So I am a happy mum :)

I also found out about the local mothers group which starts soon - will be nice to meet some local mums. There is also a stroller-exercise group that I might go to...

Bubs is growing up in leaps and bounds - she talks away, cooing and making sweet baby noises. Her grins are getting bigger and even more frequent. She is growing out of 0000 clothes on a daily basis - which is a shame cause they are all so cute! She has had her first bottle of expressed breast milk - she didnt swallow much but was happy to suck the bottle... She is sleeping like an angel in the afternoons, evenings and overnight - up to 6 hours between feeds. She has much lighter sleeps in the mornings and can catnap but I cant complain!

I am loving being home looking after her - its so special and peaceful.

About Me

My Photo
Amy
I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)
