Oh my gosh I love my little girls so much and they make my heart melt. They are just so cute at the moment - almost 4 and almost 2 is a very sweet little combination.

But far out I am so looking forward to rewarding and nourishing myself and my relationship with my husband! In less than 3 days, we jet off for 5 days alone - 3 days on a little island in the Great Barrier Reef and two days in an executive room at the Hilton in Cairns. This is all in order to celebrate our wedding anniversary  - our seventh. I am aching for the chance to sleep-in, drink a cocktail beside a pool, eat food in a posh restaurant, walk aimlessly, chatting uninterrupted, snorkle and swim without a barnacle child attached to me and nap or watch tv during the day. Bliss.

So yes I will miss my gorgeous girls but oh I will be so recharged and refreshed when I get back to them!

Hubby has gone all out with this trip - we will want for nothing with his airport lounge memberships, executive club access at the hotel, breakfasts every day, a couples massage already booked at a beautiful day spa and room upgrades thanks to his status cards. I have a feeling I will be a couple of kilos heavier by the time I return!

I am so stressed at work at the moment - I would kill for a work day where I didn't spend the day in a state of panic over how much I have to do and how many staff I have to supervise, assist and guide. But instead I just have to make sure I leave it all behind me so I can make the most of these five days.

My mum bought me a gorgeous new handmade evening bag and I can't wait to take it out to a lovely restaurant to celebrate our anniversary.

Oh happy days!

I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)
