The weather has been a little hit and miss this Summer. But we have finally had some hot humid weather.. and with it comes the afternoon storms. And we have been copping it - not like usual though, no wind, no rumbling thunder. Just heavy heavy rain. Buckets of rain following close on the tail of the floods we just had. The ground is so wet, the dams are too full and we can't use the water in the tanks fast enough, cue flash flooding. This is what we have been dealing with.
This is the driveway - recovering from having been under water..

And the side of the house where the tanks are. The laundry paved courtyard (just visible) came close to flooding into the house.

Love storms as they cool down the hot humid days but would prefer less rain and power losses and more gorgeous lightening and thunder!

Oh no! Don't worry, winter will be here soon and it will be cold and dry. Only in Qld, right?

About Me

My Photo
Amy
I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)
