I stumbled upon my favourite non-professional photograph from our wedding and couldnt resist putting it up so I would see it again!

It shows how the church was flooded with sunlight while we were married - it was gorgeous. The day truly was golden..

I will let the pictures say it all :) The room is very pretty and peaceful and has a lovely outlook of gumtrees and the horses

I had a lovely baby shower - Mum and Jase really put in the hard work to make sure it was beautiful..

We had a high tea themed shower - lots of flowers, white tablecloths, tea cups and cakes - how can that be anything but fun! Soooo many yummy cakes and slices! We are still eating the leftovers (yum!)

It was lovely to see everyone that turned up, there was a real random mix of people as we still dont have that many friends up here but I really appreciated my lovely friends who did make the trip :)

We got very spoiled with amazing thoughtful presents and so many great things that I would never have thought to get for bub!

Everyone had a guess on bubs weight and due date and we bought plain white singlets and bibs for everyone to decorate with fabric markers. They came out so cute!

I felt very special and super excited about bubs soon-to-happen arrival! And best of all it was the incentive to finish the nursery so now I can show all those pics too ;)
OK where do I start!! I have photos of the completed nursery, photos of my baby shower and photos of my 32 week update!

Hmm will start with my 32 week update ;)

Its all going well - I have a lot of lower back pain and aching but mainly from being on my feet so much at work! Bubs is sitting low and as a result I am getting so much pelvic pressure which makes me waddle and want to hold my belly - not a great look ;) Mainly I am easily tiring and need lots of sit down time :)

Bubs is getting so strong and her movements are so easy to see - lots of bumps and pointy bits sticking out of my tummy. Its painful but just so gorgeous to watch! She wakes up at loud noises - she was very not keen on the farrier the other day shaping Spechs metal shoes as there was lots of banging!

Weight - 67kg at last check... Cravings - caramel choc slice, mums choc coconut slice (hmm bit of a theme there!)

Only 11 more days of work!! I canrt wait as its been so hectic and I am on my feet so much - bring on the rest! Obs appointment on Thursday and we start antenatal classes next Tuesday - should be interesting!

Here is our new dining table and chairs - I cant wait to get it delivered but alas its not due to arrive until late June - so we will have a little bub before we get it! but oh well - its worth the wait!

Our place is done in soft greens, creams and whites in a shabby country chic so I have been dying to have a country style table in the distressed white and timber :)

We ordered some of the nice scallop chairs to put on the ends of the table so it will be an 8 seater all up :)

Well I finished the mobile for the nursery and I am quite proud! Its really cute and pretty and the colours match perfectly with the nursery themes of pastel purple, green and cream :)

Now to hang in over the change table.. I will be enlisting hubbys help for that! we have tomorrow off to hang out for his bday which will be gorgeous (mm not to mention the fancy lunch I am taking him at Stamford Plaza on the river in the city!) nice!

This pic shows the colours a little better :)

Realised I didnt do my 30 week post :) wow in the 3 numbers now! Feeling HUGE!!! Am getting alot of comments from strangers that think I am due any day and a couple of ladies at work who have had a few grandkids recently etc are saying that I am way bigger than they would expect! To add to this at my obs appointment - my tummy is still measuring two weeks ahead - so she could be a big un ;)I am just glad she is growing well...

I havent gained anymore weight but my belly has gotten noticeably bigger - my ribs are now a lot more prominent. I now have the tough job of eating more :) - something I normally wouldnt have a problem with, but now with a baby taking up the space my stomach used to, it is more of a chore! So i figure quality over quantity in the way of calories and have been endulging my cravings of cake and chocolate ;)

Bubs is wonderfully active and delights me with her poking out limbs and wiggles :) She is firmly head down and happy leaning her bum out the left side of my belly..

Pregnancy symptoms - lots of ouch pelvic pain, lower backache, sciatic nerve pain and aching aching lower legs and ankles - all adds up to a very unhappy me being on my feet all day in the lab! I am now thinking of finishing work a little earlier - once I have finished lecturing - I am out of there!

Weekend plans - lots of resting and nesting - had the most gorgeous sleep-in with hubby (will miss those lazy mornings!). Am trying to finish sewing my nursery mobile and put away all the newly washed bub clothes :) Mum is staying tonight while she is in Brisbane for a wildlife course.. and tomorrow we are heading to DFO - yay shopping!!

Other than that - making a pavlova for hubbys bday - tuesday. We are both flexing the day off work and I am taking him out for the Stamford buffet lunch - the view should be gorgeous and hopefully the food will be not too shabby either ;)

And.. then preparing for our baby shower which is Sunday morning! only a small one but should be lots of fun :) I will have the nursery "finished" by then so I will definitely take photos then... stay tuned!

We did hubby's xmas present from me this weekend - a V8 supercar drive. Very fun to watch him driving round a race track :)he did great!

And even better we finished with a lunch of Yatala pies - hehe the important things for me!!

the rest of the weekend involved nesting - washing clothes and finishing the nursery.. photos to come of the nursery ;)

Yep feeling too tired for much writing - sore and exhausted just about sums it up! my tum weighs a lot now and my back and legs get so sore from dragging myself around the lab at work all day! I have had more uber painful contraction pain things which make me uneasy! I am trying to take it easy but work just has so much that needs to be done before I am off!

But bubs is growing so strong and loves to stick her limbs out and make me laugh :)she reacts to sound really strongly now - its lovely. I love how our morning alarm wakes her up too!

Hmm so cravings - cake, chocolate and sugar! am getting a lot hungrier these days! Weight gain - 66 kg Symptoms - braxton hicks, blood noses all the time, lethal leg cramps, periody back aches, heavy heavy pelvis, frequent peeing (yep more so than usual!, total breathlessness, crazy grumpy upset hormonal attacks..

Here are some adorable pics of just a few of the beautful clothing pieces that mum bought me when she was away :)Cant wait to dress my little on in these cute outfits!!

We have nearly got the nursery complete now - I am hoping to hang the pictures and floating shelf this weekend... it looks lovely! My baby shower is in three weeks - just a quiet high tea with lots of cakes and slices ;) hehe wonder why I wanted those!

Ooh hubby has his V8 supercar drive this weekend - I will have to master the video camera to film him! Should be lots of fun!

Starting to get cold out here on the farm now - we are getting beautiful cool misty mornings that are a pleasure to be wandering around feeding animals in :) If only I could stop and soak it up rather than have to rush to work!

time for my belly pics :) she is growing and dont I know it! Her kicks are getting so strong - She woke up when hubby came to bed late last night (she is getting to know his voice from him reading her stories - so cute!) and she kept me awake for another hour kicking and bopping away! :)

We had a fun day buying a few little things for the nursery including a cute little purple lamp and a new Pooh picture :) I am hopeful to get the nursery furniture layout finished after next weekend when we pick up the feeding armchair and then we can hang pictures and the little shelf! I will take more photos then as I will hopefully have washed the millions of clothes I have bought off ebay and put them away! Apparently Mum has hit the Pumpkin Patch sale so there is more to come too!

Pregnancy is going well - I am just feeling tired and sore after much time on my feet - apparently she has doubled her body weight in 4 weeks! So there has been lots of growth and stretching going on to make me sore and tired. Bub still kicks and pokes out limbs through my tummy which iis SO cute but ouch! I am still chowing down on chocolate and sugary things - my eating habits are just out the window to my usual healthy self! oh well! I havent weighed myself lately but I dont think there has been much weight gain? Will have to check!

I have been working the horses which has been great - albeit tiring! They are coming on well :)

and here are the pics!

Loving this long weekend :) sleep ins and nothing much! Hubby and I are making the most of our couple time - have been out for dinner, to the movies twice and had a lovely pinic lunch so far..

We got our tank installed finally - that is a fantastic feeling after waiting 9 months! now we just need some decent rain to fill it - unfortunately we have missed the best falls it seems!

I had my obs appointment - all is well with my sugar levels, hemoglobulin count, blood pressure etc. Even better bubs' fundal height is now measuring two weeks ahead instead of 2 behind! yay - guess the sweet cravings have paid off :) I have been getting some severe cramps that develop into nasty back ache pain which scare me and the obs had no suggestions other than if they repeat multiple times I have to phone/come in. A little worrying! I am definitely not pushing myself physically as much I was - hopefully rest will help keep my little one in my tummy cooking away!

I have started working the horses again and it is wonderful to be back into it :) Although how I wish I could jump on and go for a gallop! sigh!

Mum and dad are back on wednesday - no more crazy house of three indoor puss cats fighting and chasing and knocking everything!

Oh and I have been working on my nursery mobile - its looking so cute! Photos to come when its more finished :)

My little wriggler is growing well - she is an expert kicker and is currently lining up my cervix and making me jump! ouch! She makes me laugh often now - she is stubborn as her mum and dad - everytime hubby puts his ear on my belly she pushes and kicks against him as hard as she can - if he moves positions, she does too!

Hubby is reading her stories at night so she can get used to his voice. Its lovely family time for all us :)

All is OK in preggo land - I have had some strange very strong and painful cramps and backaches that have scared me. I am keen to talk about them with my obs when I have an appointment on Thursday. I am suspicious that I am doing too much on my feet - work is becoming very demanding.. I have my gestational diabetes test tomorrow, not sure how I will go as I have been such a sugar fiend with all these sweet cravings I have been having :)

I am so looking forward to the easter weekend - I cant wait for a nice rest with hubby as we have both been so busy recently. I am also planning on getting more sewing done on my mobile as it is turning out surprisingly nice!

I am getting so excited about our little bub - I cant wait to meet her now. Pregnancy has been nothing like what I expected - SO much harder! but even though it is getting tougher and more uncomfortable, I am loving it and I do love my belly :)My hormones are getting so strong now - I love nesting and cleaning etc and I am quick to get teary at just about anything!

Pregnancy stats - weight - 65.5 kg. Symptoms - cramps, backache, weariness. Cravings - sweet sweet sweet - cake and chocolate mostly - look out easter bunny!

I have decided to make a mobile for the nursery. I dont think hubby has stopped laughing since I mentioned this... Scientist I may be and damn good with hands-on projects but crafty is not a word that tends to be used to describe me ;)

Anyhoo - I wandered off to Spotlight today and spent hours picking things up and putting them back lol. But I must have done alright with my stash of ribbons, fabric, beads and sequins as the salesgirl asked straight away if I was making a mobile! Ha score one for me! Was feeling quite proud of myself until I got home and realised that eek it was just me, the sewing machine and needle and thread now!

So my "idea" is fabric stars in the nursery colours of lemon, lilac and pale green with some beads and ribbons to hang the stars from a cane circle... stay tuned ;) I am sure it will only take about three months to make!

time is flying - very scary! into double figures - 96 days to go!!

I am loving my tummy but finding it so hard to get used to!! its just so out there and I feel like an easter egg! Especially as hubby decided to point out that I seem to have lost weight and muscle from my legs so they look extra skinny compared to my belly! hehe its a great look ;) But as weird as it is to have nothing fit me - I love feeling my little one bopping away in there! She has discovered her pointy bits and things keep popping out of my tum! Gosh it can get painful when they wiggle and scrape along my sides! But so amazing to watch! Good entertainment for boring workshops and meetings at work!

I keep thinking I am fit and able and head off at an active walk etc but quickly come to a tender waddling slow down! She is pushing on my tummy and I cant eat much in one sitting and am getting the heartburn etc but its not too bad...

I have been in the city for the last couple of days at a training workshop and I have been getting so many stares and comments and people asking about bub - you definitely become public property!

Next week is the gestational diabetes test - fingers crossed things go well!

All is well with life on our little farm. We have had some interstate visitors which was fun. I have been spending up a storm on ebay - we now have so many cute baby clothes! hubby bought some golden books to read to bub - its so cute! Fingers crossed we are getting our new tank delivered next week (humph not holding my breath though!).. I am living having mums cat to look after as he makes my cats so playful and happy - very cute! I have a spare weekend coming up and I cant wait - just come cleaning (nesting!) and maybe even some nursery sewing planned :) oh and some work with the horses of course!

Here are my belly pics! So much stretching!!

Pregnancy stats - weight now - 65kg..but it seems to be all tummy - I am still fitting size small/size8 skirts if they are under my belly! cravings - sweet foods ie cake mufffins, chocolate, ice cream! I think my body is trying to make me pile the weight on now!
Symptoms - braxton hicks, easy tiredness, backaches, stretching and tightness, indigestiona nd heartburn!

Yep nothing like coming home to our peaceful little farm after a crazy work trip in sydney! Gosh it makes me realise how much I hate cities and suburbia and people and noise etc!!!

I am definitely over flying during pregnancy - its just so uncomfortable and people are so rude. I got no help with my carry on suitcase and I also had to help lift my work colleagues bags as she is under five foot and just cant reach overhead storage etc... not a person offered to help and I even had a fellow barge straight into my stomach which really hurt - gggrrr! At least the work part of the trip was interesting and the hotel was nice!

I was so happy to be surprised by hubby picking me up at the airport - so good to see him! And we raced home to meet my parents who were arriving to stay with us whilst they dropped off their cat and chickens for us to pet sit for the next month! So of course the usual visiting chaos ensued and we had a lovely roast dinner and catch up :)

After a gorgeous sleep in and a lazy wander around to check on all the animals we headed out for a nice breakfast out :) and finished with laptop shopping... we now own a nice new laptop - hurrah one that doesnt conk all the time and is big screened and pretty! But I still love my stupid mac even though the power supply is faulty and turns off all the time!

Now I am about to make some chicken soup for dinner, wash the horses and then have a rest :) I have tomorrow off from work and I am getting my hair done (yay for pampering!) and hubby is nagging me to go to a maternity store sale to buy some decent dressy work clothes that actually fit!! SO I will drag myself off for some retail therapy (i know tough!)...

life really is sweet :)

I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)
