Its off to work I go...
Well maternity leave is officially over, after 9 months or so... Tomorrow I start back two days a week.
I am pretty OK with it - most people think I will be upset but I am truly looking forward to getting back into the research and having some "me" time doing something mentally challenging. I have been so stir crazy the last few weeks, in fact bored about of my brain might be a better description - I have been shopping most days just to get out of the house (hehe I have a post of some gorgeous new purchases to share by the way!). So its time. I have always known I am not the stay at home mum type.
Two days is a perfect balance - five days with Elka is lovely. Plus she loves her daycare - she needs the stimulation and company of other bubs.
So Monday/Tuesdays will be quiet on the blog front. And tomorrow the alarm is set for bright and early! My herbal teas are packed, cupcakes are made for a work morning tea that is on tomorrow and best of all - a super cute new outfit is laid out :) A cornflower blue blouse with neck scarf and a pencil skirt with a cute belt - preppy but fun and a reminder to my fellow scientists that I am back and ready to be professional. There are two grants in my name to work on, a number of papers to prepare and about five running projects ready for some hard work - bring it on!

About Me
- Amy
- I am 30 years old, am a microbiologist with a PhD and love looking after my little farm. I compete in dressage and showjumping with my horses. I have a passion for shopping and a weakness for pretty clothes, shoes and handbags. My husband and I have a gorgeous toddler called Elka and a little bub named Bronte. I am a mother who works and has a career - just don't call me a "working mother". I don't do inside hobbies and craft and have only successfully sewn two things in my life that weren't ripped horserugs. The scientist in me makes me a little cynical and I am more likely to tell you about my life and events then give you a pretty polaroid style picture and an inspiring quote. Not for everyone but I have a bad memory and blogging is my way of recording life :)

Good luck at work. I fear the day that I have to leave Zoe to go back to work. Hopefully that day will not come for a very long time.
I hope you survived being back at work!
